It is hot and dry in North Canterbury meaning the fire risk is very high.

Hanmer Springs

All trails in Hanmer Forest, north of Jollies Pass Rd are closed from 24 January – the Woodland area and the Heritage Forest remain open

Molesworth and the St James

The Acheron Rd closes at 7pm, Sunday 28 January while the Edwards Valley track and the Maling Pass track all close this Friday 26 January at 10am(to vehicles (including quads, ATV’s and motorbikes)

The trails, tracks and roads will reopen when the fire indices drop – a decision by land managers
